Hello

I am a political economist at Columbia University and its Center for Political Economy, specializing in energy, industrial, and climate policy. My research focuses on the themes such as the global rise of green industrial policies, the shifting role of business in a carbon-constrained economy, or the promises and limits of green central banking. I also explore deeper historical questions, such as how climate change came to be seen primarily through economic lenses and what is lost when we stay within the economic frame.

My research has been published in journals such as Perspectives on Politics, Foreign Affairs, Politics & Society, the Journal of European Public Policy, Socio-Economic Review, and the Review of International Political Economy. My work has also received several awards, including the Emerging Scholar Prize from Foreign Affairs and the University of Pennsylvania's Perry World House. You can find out more about my research agenda on my projects site, including a primer on my book project, Saving the Climate by Serving the Economy: How Climate Policy Became a Means to Economic Ends.

You can find my CV here. Please also check out my bluesky feed for news and opinions. Lastly, a lot of my work involves reaching out to the people who make the green transition work, so please feel invited to send me an email if you have any questions.
